CrunchTechie → Samsung Smart Interaction Gesture Controlled HDTV demo
Jan 11, 2012 — Samsung revealed some of its 2012 HDTVs would include a built in camera and mic to enable a feature it calls Smart Interaction, which is just a brand name for voice and gesture control. We stopped by the company’s massive CES booth today and squeezed between all of those 55-inch OLEDs to get a quick demo, and found it mirrored the suddenly common Kinect functionality we’ve become accustomed to closely.

dogtagsvette → 20 Meter Zero Five 5/8 Vertical Antenna vs Dipole, K7PP
Dec 15, 2011 — thought it might be fun to compare the signal from a 5/8 wave vertical antenna made by Zero Five and a Dipole. The Zero Five has 3db advertised gain over a dipole so armed with a high power amp and an “A” “B” switch and a really nifty remote receiver some 300 miles away, we set about to find out which was best for the short haul. It’s difficult to see on the bar graph but there is really a 1 S unit difference in favor of the vertical. Might be even more if it was a DX hop.
