Winter Weather Predictions - Colder Than Normal
According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac 2009 (Old Farmer’s Almanac) (Paperback) it looks like we could have a colder than normal winter. Colder than average temperatures are expected.
Based on solar activity and sunspots, a cooling trend could last for several years. On a long term basis, extreme conditions could exist. The National Weather Service claims that there is not enough data to prove how much sunspots affect the climate of the Earth (if at all).
Even they themselves add at the end of the forecast, that they or no other agency, could “predict weather long-range with anything resembling total accuracy”. Now that is a sense of humor. Class act.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac has been published since 1792. George Washington was the president, and the Almanac cost about nine cents.
